Adult Sibling Project
Funded by the Julia Farr McLeod Benevolent Fund

The initiative, which involves the development of written and web-based resources for adult siblings, aims to strengthen the relationships between people with special needs and their brothers or sisters. The sibling relationship is the longest of any. It usually lasts long after parents are able to care for a person with disabilities. Siblings can play a key role in the emotional and social health of the person with special needs. However sometimes these relationships can be strained or severed due to childhood difficulties.

If you would like to be involved in the project or receive email updates, please contact Kate Strohm at kate@siblingsaustralia.org.au

SibworkS
Funded by the Morialta Charitable Trust

SibworkS is a therapeutic support program aimed at siblings of children with special needs aged 8 to 12 years. The program was developed and written by Kate Strohm (Executive Director, Siblings Australia) and Dr Monique Nesa (Curtin University, WA). Both authors have had a long history working in sibling support and the program grew out of their combined experiences. For more information, please visit our SibworkS page.

These programs will be run in Adelaide in 2008, if you would like to receive more information, or register for a program, please contact the office.
