The Siblings Australia Reference Group (SARG) was established in August 2007. The main aim of the reference group is to provide Siblings Australia with guidance on a number of topics, including policy making, projects, lobbying, funding and much more. It is also an opportunity for members to share their resources and discuss issues relating to siblings of those with special needs.
Unfortunately Siblings Australia funding was not continued in 2008 and this group had to be disbanded. It is hoped that the group will be able to start up again once we can access federal government funding. It is extremely important to have some co-ordination and collaboration regarding sibling support initiatives. We are constantly lobbying for this.
We appreciate the contribution of those who were a part of the reference group in 2007.
